Russian Approval Goes from GOST to EAC

Russian Approval

EAC Russian ApprovalIn early 2013 the Russian approval, GOST R, came to an end and was no longer being issued. The new certification for Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan is the Customs Union Technical Regulation (EAC). The Customs Union was started in 2010 to make it easier to transport goods in and out of the 3 countries.

The CU TR certification by EAC and declarations will be the new standard for the 3 countries. An EAC logo will now be displayed. This new single certification can be used to replace GOST R, GOST K and STB. Quail Electronics‘ power cords, such as the 8510 series, is currently displaying the EAC marking.

Understanding North American Cord Markings

Power cords come in all shapes and sizes. Depending on the functionality, they can be used from powering standard household devices to large-scale applications in enterprise or hospital settings. Knowing only the plug type and length of your power cord, however, gives a marginal grasp of your overall powering demands.

Even a technophile would agree that understanding the inner workings of electronic components can be quite complicated. This is also true in the power cord industry. Etched into our cord jackets display markings that refer to several characteristics that embody the powering solution to keep your products powered seamlessly. In an effort to explicate Quail’s worldwide-leading products, we have presented an exposition Continue reading Understanding North American Cord Markings

I come from a land down under – the great wall – socket

“Paper or plastic?” We’ve all been asked this paradoxical quandary at the checkout counter. Both are similar in nature, and serve the same purpose. However, both are mutually exclusive, and derive from different materials. Yet, either solution offers strikingly similar functionality.

This is also true in the power cord industry. As a worldwide leader in power cord configurations, Quail provides scores of North American and international combinations to fulfil your home or office’s electrical solutions. Two power cord configurations from cross-continental hemispheres in particular may appear identical in design, yet are fraternal in operation. After all, everybody knows you don’t play ping pong with a boomerang.

The Australian three-blade conductor power cord mirrors its Chinese three-pronged equivalent for domestic or industrial power cord configurations. Despite their similar architecture, the primary difference is the Australian model features insulated live and neutral blades. Holiday Safety: Outdoor Decorations

lightsNow that the inside of your house is ready go, time to tackle the outside! There are several mistakes that people often make, and Quail Electronics wants to make sure none of those happen!

We’ve said it a million times, but we’ll say it again.  Check to make sure all the wires of your lights are not frayed.  It may seem basic, but it’s something that can be overlooked and lead to a major fire hazard. Christmas lights aren’t made to last a long time.  Also, perform a test run of your lights. Plug them in briefly to an outlet to check if any lights are burn out.  Mark the ones that are burn out with a small piece of masking tape. Then unplug the lights before replacing the bulbs.
