CES 2015 Roundup

international-ces-2015-las-vegasAs the new year begins, it’s also time to roll out the fancy new gadgets. The 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) roared through Las Vegas last week.  The weeklong showcases over 3,600 exhibitors and attracts over 160,000 attendees. Previous CES events have included high-profile introductions such as the world’s first VCR, camcorder, DVD player, household robots, and most recently, 3D printers and 4k televisions.

The 2015 showcase might not have had any earth-shattering debuts, but it did feature lots of improvements from other newly emerged electronics.  4K TV’s were in abundance, as were smart watches, self-driving cars, and virtual reality headsets.CES14_sights2

Also trending for 2015 are products that focus on healthcare, environment, and education.  Wearables and fitness trackers are seeing a big jump in popularity.  Appliances are becoming smarter and more efficient, with washing machines and refrigerators that save big on space and energy.  New apps are being introduced that teach kids science, math, and tech.  Electric vehicles are also a hot commodity, as Tesla and other manufacturers are leading the way for the green car revolution.
